Ed O'Neill, who plays Detective Joe Friday, was born Edward O'Neill on April 12th, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio. He has studied Jiujitzu for more than 10 years and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Cathy Rusoff. The two were married in 1986. O'Neill's claim to faim was his role as Al Bundy on Married... with Children. Since those days, he has appeared on several television programs including: 2001's Big Apple (where her starred as Det. Mike Mooney), Hunter and Miami Vice. He has also been seen in such movies as, The Bone Collector, Prefontaine, Little Giants, Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 and Dutch among others.

Ethan Embry, who plays Detective Frank Smith, was born Ethan Philian Randall on June 13th, 1978 in Huntington Beach, California. As an adult he had his name legally changed to Ethan Embry. He has an older brother, Aaron, and a younger sister, Kessia. Embry started his acting career by appearing in numerous TV and radio commercials (a total which reaches over 100!) and by the age of thirteen, he had entered the world of film. On November 14th, 1998 Ethan married actress, Amelinda Smith, who one year later gave birth to their son, Cogeian Sky. The two were divorced in 2000. Embry has starred in other television series' including: Freakylinks and Work With Me, plus can be seen in several movies such as, Sweet Home Alabama, Disturbing Behavior, Can't Hardly Wait, Vegas Vacation, White Squall, That Thing You Do!, Dutch and All I Want for Christmas.

Roselyn Sanchez, who plays Detective Lisa Macias, was born on April 2nd, 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sanchez, who stands 5'5" in height and is nicknamed PoPi, moved to New York City when she was 21 to take dancing, acting and singing lessons. In the mid 1990s she was a model and in 1993 she won the Miss Puerto Rico Petite Competition. She has starred in other television series including, Ryan Caulfield: Year One, Fame L.A. and the daytime soap, As The World Turns. Her movie career includes names such as, Rush Hour 2, Boat Trip, Nightstalker and Basic among others.

Desmond Harrington, who plays Detective Jimmy McCarron, was born in Savannah, Georgia, but later grew up in the Bronx, New York. Since early childhood he dreamed of becoming an actor and when that dream was about to come true, he set out on a job-hunt to pay for acting classes in Manhattan. He became a landscaper and laborer during the day and a bartender at night. Now he can be seen in such movies as Joan Of Arc, Riding in Cars with Boys, Ghost Ship and Wrong Turn as well as the television mini series, Taken.

Eva Longoria, who plays the part of Detective Gloria Duran, grew up on a ranch in Corpus Christi, Texas. She later attended Texas A&M, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduating, Longoria entered a talent contest in Los Angeles, where she was spotted and subsequently signed by a theatrical agent. Since then she has appeared on several television series, including The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Young and the Restless and most recently, The Talent Agency.

Evan Parke, who plays the role of Detective Raymond Cooper, was originally from Jamaica, but later moved to Brooklyn and Long Island, New York, where he grew up. He earned a bachelors degree in Economics from Cornell University before graduating from the prestigious Yale School of Drama in 1997. Parke's film credits include movies such as Planet of the Apes, The Cider House Rules and The Replacements, while his small screen credits include appearances on All My Children, As the World Turns, One on One and Alias.

Christina Chang, who plays Deputy District Attorney Sandy Chang, was born in Taipei, Taiwan and raised by her Chinese-Filipino father and American mother. By the age of 17, she had moved to the United States to study theater and film in Kansas. She would later earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington. She can be seen in several films, some of which are, 28 Days, Dinner and a Movie, Random Hearts and Brother Tied. She has also appeared in several television series, including Girls Club, Cosby, The Guiding Light and As the World Turns.
